In the next few minutes, high school students will be gathering outside the police headquarters on Alexandras Ave – an unprecedented move even for leftie/ anarchist groups. But the students have already overcome nearly all conventional forms of political action, so far.
A solidarity meeting is called for today outside the main courthouse in Athens, in solidarity with the arrestees – the pre-trial detention (or not) of many of them is to be decided today.
In the early hours of Monday morning, a well-know local fascist/mafia-type threatened the people inside the occupied building of the town hall of Chalandri in Athens. The people in the building left under the threat of the gun, to prevent things from getting worse, and re-occupied it a few hours later.
The police helicopter is hovering over Athens for the ninth consequtive day. We are off to the police headquarters gathering; more reports to follow.

A suivre.

Earlier today, clashes in Korydallos, outside the biggest prison of the country. Occupations of radio stations continue – this morning, with 3 stations in Mytilene (Lesbos). G2000 can you please give more info on the demos outside the police station? I thought they were just sit-ins? What happened?
with solidarity from Istanbul
Indeed, they were just sit-ins, dominated by teenagers and students, in order to protest for the (dozens of) arrests, during the last few days (most of them, completely random). The clash broke out when they started using personal sprays to push the students away…

Here’s a fast traduction :
“In recent days, we have every reason to be inspired. Greece, struggling with the consequences of a global economic crisis, live currently one of the most impressive revolts of the twenty-first century. Whether anarchists, students, immigrants or re-workers, it is especially a large part of Greek proletariat who does not hesitate to irreversibly destabilize the country after the killing by police of Alexandros Grigoropoulos , 15 years. The event reminds us of recent memories because, here, the shooter crazy Jean-Loup Lapointe killed Fredy Villanueva, 18 yo, on 9 August.
The situation is rich in lessons. The very fast arrestation in Athens of the cop killer and his accomplice shows us that justice, when it comes to accusing the guards of the state, is a question of power relations. Unfortunately, the spirit of revolt that has blown on Montreal-North was not threatening enough to send the pig Lapointe in its place: at worst in prison, at best delivered to the population. Many witnesses reported that the police are using fascist Greek organizations to attack with knifes insurgents in the streets of Athens and Patras. When it feels threatened, the ruling class does not hesitate to use all necessary means to restore its social order.
While the ultra-violent repression is intensifying day by day at the heart of ancient cities, cradles of democracy and philosophy, Hors-d’Øeuvre invites you to a picket of solidarity with the Greek revolt on Tuesday 16 December 16O’clock in front of the Consulate General of Greece, located at the corner Place Philips and René-Levesque (1170 Place du Frère-André). The transformation of the world is a very risky project. There is no small point major in business. The result of this copy is the social revolution.
Mpatsoi, goyroynia, dolofonoi!
Cops, pigs, murderers!”
Tear gas against a “musicians’” march in central Athens (18:12 local time)- a happening with music, more than a march, and certainly not a militant march…It seems that repression in Greece reaches a new low, with tragi-comic aspects…
Keep your protest as a citizen’s one, don’t mess with any politics. If you do this you won’t succeed. If you mess with the communists, many people will NOT support you. Understand this. You must act very wisely. Also, watch out for jewish provocations, just keep in mind who created the financial crisis globally and why. Don’t be a weapon in the hands of other people.
