Once again in the last few weeks, we are standing before an unprecedented situation here in greece. The (suspicious, to say the least) injuring of a riot police cop has been followed by a frantic state and media attempt to shift the mood against the police and the state following the assassination of Alexandros. What is more, a sinister procedure is under way, aiming to terrorise the participants of the popular revolt and to criminalise all and any form of dissent: House raids in the country’s big cities follow one another; on the night of the shooting of the riot cop only, more than 75 people were detained following random raids in bars and cafes around Eksarhia, in Athens.
Our movement was public and open from the beggining, and will continue to be so -people here realise the importance of responding to the media/state hysteria with a mass presence in tomorrow’s demonstrations in Athens, Thessaloniki, Patras and across the country. An anarchist assembly is under way in the Athens Polytechnic at the moment.
There will be updates from the demos in Athens, Thessaloniki and Patras from this blog during the day tomorrow.
