#251 | Athens sends its revolutionary greetings to Chiapas: ¡Zapata Vive! ¡La Lucha Sigue!

Saturday, April 17 saw a small (but symbolically, very important) anarchist-called demonstration in solidarity to the Zapatista communities in Chiapas, in response to the latest wave of repression they are faced against. The roughly 200 demonstrators marched from Propylea to the neighbourhood of Kolonaki, where the mexican embassy is located – and from there back to Exarcheia. A few photos follow, more on Athens IMC.

200 protesters are not many for Athens, but the same day other two demonstrations took place in Athens. One in the district of Nea Filadelfia and the other one in the center. The first was motivated by the permanent presence and harassment of the police to the residents of the area due to investigations related to Revolutionary Struggle and had about 350 people, and the second one was a demonstration with motorbikes related to the economic situation and the austerity plan.
