M. Mperaha and N. Malapanis are two latest people who were charged with participation to the group Revolutionary Struggle. After appearing before the prosecutor general, the two were not ordered in pre-trial detention; instead, they have been given bail conditions (ban from exiting the country, sign-off at the police station monthly). In a justice system where even blatantly innocent people are ordered in pre-trial detention regularly, ordering bail conditions instead is a clear, if indirect, admission of lack of evidence on the side of the public prosecutor.
