Absolutely amazing to see people taking to the streets like that. It looks absolutely revolutionary over there in Greece and as austerity smashes the workers of Europe, anger will only grow. If you had asked me just a few months ago if anything like this would ever happen in the US I would have most definitely said NO. However, I never thought the British would riot either, and that has happened, giving me hope that the staid North Europeans will eventually resist and in turn, the materialistic consumer masses of the US will embrace the political struggle, wake from their slumber, and fight against the kleptocracy that is destroying our inalieable rights as human beings.
Solidarity. What happends when Greek goverment collapses? How do you feed 4 million people in Athens after old society is destroyed, burned to the ground and looted? How do you start from Year Zero?

Society is “destroyed” by the Greek government and the capitalist looting of the workers and the middleclass wages and power. This is what happens more or less everywhere and what will happen unless the people rise up. While rising, there may be situations that looting and burning will be used. Bakunin said that the urge to destroy is at the same time a creative passion. The destroyers cant wait to become builders.

- First, thank you for the news. It’s amazing how poorly Greece events are covered by mainstream medias here. It’s all about snow falling… No kidding, snow falling in winter, what great news (8 minutes out of 34 today) !!!

The people had the cops on the back-foot. Were the cops just restrained or is that a typical encounter?
Greece led us in ancient history; time to do it again?
1. The people had the cops on the back-foot because they were wearing gas masks. Usually the greek cops are very brutal, but when their chemicals do not work, they are like chickens.
2. On videos I see just a few thousand people, but that day they were over 200.000 people in the center of Athens.
