#548 | Is this the start of the “occupy everything” season? Athens town hall, another five town halls and hundreds of schools occupied across Greece

In Athens, temporary workers at the municipality of Athens have been occupying the town hall of the Greek capital for six days (since Monday, 21.3) demanding that their temporary contracts are extended. Similar mobilisations happened at the town halls of Heraklion (in Crete), Lesvos, Kozani and Amintaio in Florina. At the same time, the number of schools occupied by their students is growing by the day, as students and parents protest the governmental decision to shut down 1,000 schools (out of a national total of approximately 16,000).

Hospital doctors across the country have called for strikes on March 30th and 31st, to protest health system cuts.
