A crowd whose size is difficult to even estimate gathered in central Athens to protest against the crisis and the Memorandum tonight. The call to a pan-european call of action saw more than 100,000 (some estimates give much higher numbers) flooding Syntagma square and many central nearby avenues. In contrast to previous gatherings, police presence was much higher, with fencing erected around the parliament building and double, or triple rows of riot police around it.
The city is now building up for the General Strike of June 15th, which is also the next date of action announced at Syntagma square. Both mobilisations are aimed against the new agreement between the government and the troika (IMF/EU/ECB) which is planned to be voted at parliament on the morning of the 15th. The general assembly of Syntagma square has already called for a blocking of the parliament from the night of the 14th. In addition to the fencing installed around the parliament (see below), a police water canon has also appeared nearby.
Similar demonstrations took place in Thessaloniki, Patras, Heraklion, Larisa, Volos and many other Greek cities. In the Cretan city of Chania, fascists bearing arms appeared in the gathering, in a failed attempt to provoke the gathered crowd.

I really hope something comes of this June 15th strike. It’s pretty sad to see what has been done to Greece, but I respect the peoples’ will to struggle in that country. One thing was very clear, it was wrong to adopt the Euro. I think it was for a lot of countries.
Make sure to bring ladders this time! It was kind of pathetic watching people try to storm Parliament a few years ago, only to be defeated by a couple of chains across the stairs. I think you can probably leave the battering ram at home, though.
Ladders AND grappling hooks.
I find the article bellow very interesting to learn more about the way banks and major players works in today’s twisted economic environment.

In Thessaloniki over 50,000 people gathered and protested. Things are moving forward comrades. The tide has began.
I am impressed with the commitment and strength of the Greek people to resist the sell-off of your country, to bail-out the banks.
When the general strike happens, encourage everyone to not just stay on the street. Occupy the banks, the offices, the factories. The government can’t sell what it doesn’t control.
german press reports in the small letters about a few tenthousand people and they dont speak about the content of this protest. so they lie and conceal. but when the molotovs burned some people last year it was in the headlines for more than a week…
but nevertheless only a very small minority in germany believes the story of the ‘lazy greeks’
so keep cool and go on fighting!

don’t be naiv, it’s the same people, who sacrifice their last shorts to “save the germon nation” and that since years, whenever the oligarchs are calling for it. the people in germoney do not believe in the lies about a boom, or in the faked unemployment statistics, but scapegoats have always been very popular to canalize the anger, e.g. “the lazy east germons”, “the lazy hartz4 receivers”, “the muslims, who live in a parallel society”, “the criminal roma”, “the lazy greeks” etc.
devide and conquer, atomizing the society in countless competing micro-groups is the most effective way to avoid the built up of any social movement…

thank you for the updates!
main german news channel was thrown out of syntagma by the protestors and so the camera team had to go on filming with their mobile phones

i think it is half and half. you are right that a lot of people believe in the media but many dont. even if they speak different, like my grandpa.
revolution will not be televised!
Now they will do the same in Greece what they have done in GDR (east germany) 20 years ago. They will install an authority like TREUHAND which organizes the privatisation of public wealth. The result can everbody see in eastern german today with a unemployment rate of mor than 30%, social-deserted areas and a very high rate of poverty. And there is no sign of changes in future, the society is out of any perspective.
@scheisse:
are you kiddin me? of course left people and radicals dont believe what the media says but the rest DOES BELIEVE. have you ever been to a factory? what are the employes doing in the break? they are reading the BILD-newspaper which is like the SUn in england. it produces anger against all poor people like unemployees and of course people in other countries. they really made the crowd angry at the greeks for taking away “our german” money. and they succeed
@ossi
Kohl’s promised “blooming landscapes”, where the parents abuse and starve their child to death and hide the dead body in the freezer for months, a frost shocked society…
“…European Commission welcomed the new Greek commitments, including the establishment of a privatization fund similar to the former German Treuhand, which privatized after the change East German companies…”

I feel like June 15th is make or break, because after that all the Greeks are taking their summer vacations, and “protest season” is basically over for the year. It really has to happen on that day or the banker takeover of the country will be complete.
There is a reason for the krauts to believe propaganda, lazy slobs as they are!
For someone scheisse aso, actual statistics against Merkel’s white lies:
Greeks do work 2.119 hours per year and Germans 1.390 hours/year:
http://derstandard.at/1304553745201/Studie-relativiert-Klischees-Suedeuropaeer-arbeiten-mehr-als-Oesterreicher
Merkel is totally finished. nobody trust her, take a look at the actually german polls:
http://www.wahlrecht.de/umfragen/index.htm
@startrevolt
have YOU ever been to a factory to claim that German workers read BILD during tea breaks?
The last factory I worked in had a 80 % percent migrant workforce. Most of them could hardly read German fluently.
What’s happening in both Greece and Spain is receiving zero coverage in western Europe (with the editors and owners, [Bilderburgers] of the TV news and newspapers working to their class interests), and this alone tells us how terrified the ruling class are of the assembly movement. They deny the ‘oxygen of publicity’ so that they can prevent the movement from spreading, linking and growing internationally. They fear the unity of common people as much as they cherish the unity of their own class across borders. The more they suppress information, the more freedom it gives them should they choose to use physical force to repress the movement- but this presents them with a problem. So far the mass assemblies have been peaceful, more democratic than any parliament and autonomous of any political or union affiliations…They have no ‘angle’ to exploit, in terms of any ‘leadership’ that can be co-opted, manipulated or blamed, and they know full well that masses of people are uniting regardless of political persuasion, on purely economic grounds. The assemblies dismiss politics (and in Spain, refuse money!). These movements are purely products of the failure of capitalism and the liberal democratic model and they know it. It would be easy to merely send in the riot cops (as has been done in Barcelona and a few other cities to ‘test the water’, and they have failed), the next option would be to insert agent-provocateurs to facilitate and justify more head-breaking, but his too is doomed to failure. The best they can come up with now would be some covertly constructed distraction which is a big enough event to justify repression…They cannot afford to ignore the movement indefinately, since the constant lies and broken promises only cause more indignation…The IMF’s bailout and the attached conditions must be implemented, regardless of the political and social costs in Greece, they cannot and will not back down. The scene is set for a collison between the forces of capital and labour, the like of which has not been seen for decades. This conflict will either result in the destruction of the current, failing, political economy, the imposition of new forms of dictatorship across Europe or a new global war, which none of us will survive. In short, the battle about to begin is one for true freedom, and the survival of our pitiful species. Greece is just the beginning. These are the early days…
Its good to see Greek people have a handle on whats what. Some more info for you guys:

@”me”
i have beento factories yes^^ and even immigrants read it. well “read” it or better said look at the pictures like 90% of BILD-consumers do.
Incubus is quiet correct. The process is just beginning. One driver to revolutionary transformation(or final disaster) is the dynamic action of Capitalism itself on its past creations. It now splits itself asunder. Its technological basis races to meet the twenty first century. Its social principles travel back to greet the 19th. War and Revolution have ushered us in to the twenty first century. Another failed attempt on capitalism and the species is gone.
wtf is that bilderburger shit about? if that’s not conspiracy horseshite what’s the anarchists assemblies view on this? and what’s behind that 23 billions fraud by georgie’s klan some obscure blogs are about and link here too?
as lots of them read the huerriyet german and turkish fascists meet on the toilet and wank each other about the ugly greeks.
but the number of factories without machines instead of workers is constantly declining.
Humpy dumpy, Bilderberg is a fact not a “conspiracy horseshite”,get it? I do care if 100 of the richest and powerful in this world make a reunion in closed doors. Are you anarchist or disinfo agent? no offense but if you’re anarchist, take this advice: Dont be a pawl in their game, the elite label some facts as “conspiracy theories” when there is in fact truth in that, truth they need to hide to keep in power. I read sometimes in anarchist forums some people saying “it’s a shame these people talking about secret societies, that’s a distraction”. Well, some of these societies are not secret and is very easy to prove. As a free thinker i cant pre-judge any information even if it seems unbelievible.Believe me,the elite is much more rotten and sick than you imagine
julio mendes, if you are not just a paranoid zeitgeist idiot or lsd hippie reading to much about 9/11, ufos and the ‘protocols of the elders of zion’ you are (like your partner incubus) the fucking bastard from the capitalist state (paid or unpaid is not important) who is distributing useless conspirationist propaganda garbage AGAINST class analysis and class struggle. fuck off, malaka!
against conspiracy bullshit: http://ww4report.com/node/8992
Agent Molotov, in respect to this forum i dont wanna to change too much the focus of this topic, i read some parts of the text you sent and i totally disagree. There are hundreds of “conspiracy theories” and to label everyone that advocate some facts related to these as fascist is ignorance. As a free thinker yes i like to research any kind of ideia, even zeitgeist and ufology and i dont agree with self claimed anarchists that act sectarian n intolerant.Divide and conqueur again, thats the elite game.
Some arguments of the text are really paranoid and an offense to people envolved in some of these ideas i know well that have nothing no to do with a “new age fascism”.If you wanna really discuss this stuff instead of considering just the point of view of your text, send an email to
julio.mendes1987@hotmail i can show you some arguments of the text are nonsense n for shure im open to critics
Sorry for changing the focus of the topic, but this discussion is important. just in response to text agent molotov posted, i recomend this song of Chris Geo, inspired by what i see as “conspiracy facts”. these scene of bands talking against the NWO, secret societies etc is gettin really huge and i see that as a positive sign, but i see some anarchists being very intolerant against that
im sick of been labeled “conspiranoid”,compared to anti semite ideas, etc.

have you ever taken a moment to second guess
the freemasonic order or the I R S
the caryle group and the C.F.R.
the bohemian grove and others bizarre
the rulers of the world, operate in the shadows
invading for oil, throw the leader in the gallows
land of the free, man it’s the land of the fascist
have a little taste every time you pay taxes ….
Chorus:
have you ever taken a moment to second question
found yourself entangled in an evil deception
uncovered a truth too infernal to mention
a group of elitists with demonic intentions
it’s time to pay attention, to the world unveiled
hidden in plain sight, with grim details
three simple letters, what do they spell?
Fuck the New World Order, we will prevail
Bilderberger, Zeitgeist and other conspiracy theorie is total bullshit and has nothing to do with real analysis the capitalistic system. This view of the system is close to fascist theories because it says that you have only to destroy the Bilderberger (or another group) and the world would be better. Thats a big and dangerous lie! INCUBUS, BABEOUF, JULIO MENDES should better leave this website.
Not sure, what’s your problem with Incubus or with Babeouf, they are not conspiracy theorists according to their comments.
Analysis of capitalism also means the analysis of the ruling power (that is, how the security forces and intelligence agencies would get involved in the recent events)
Greeks have taken money from Germany and the US and instead of doing something they invested in… laziness!!! And now they ask us to clean up their mess? Who has told you to trust a SOCIALIST government? Socialism never worked. It has failed. Capitalism is the only way out. You work hard you get rewarded. You are lazy you get nothing. Greeks need to stop being lazy and get rid of this socialist paranoia. I hear that many Greeks want everything for free. Nothing is free. You want education, work and pay your fees. Nobody forces you to buy 5 cars, 5 more new iphones. You have no money… you don’t buy. You want more money, you work harder. You think that unemployment is big? Sure it is. With such a big government what do you expect? Privatisation is the way out. Less state, more private ownership, more jobs.
Socialism and laziness doesn’t work. The world works with capitalism and hard work.
The real economics of Greece:
a) national debt=387 billion
b) estimated WWII debt owed to Greece=1.5 Trillion (2011 estimate)
c) EU legislative loan/profit ratio=10.0
d) military spending=13.9 USD billion
e) 20% live below the annual €6,000 threshold (2008) – now MUCH HIGHER
f) GDP=311.8 billion (PPP, 2011 estimate)
g) GDP per person=27.8K USD per year
(PPP, 2011 estimate)
h) average net salarly=1,371 euros per month
Comments:
1. EU law permits countries to lend but only to receive double the loan amount (i.e. loan/profit ratio=2.0) –> illegally implemented
2. Orthodox church is public sector – but not taxed
3. The state, the banks, employers and shop-owners are impoverising a totally sustainable economy
4. Debt is a red herring to create new profits for a failing military-industrial complex
Conclusion: …. AGANAKTISMENOI AN8ROPOI (Pissed-off people taking squares in their 100,000s and auto-organising via direct democracy and mutual cooperation…)
Ellada, Tourkia, Germania
Ekros einai stis trapezes kai stin ypourgeia!

yar shitty capitalism only excists from stealing a whole continent and it’s goods, killing most of it’s population and put the rest into concentration camps and “hard” work did the imported african slaves. Your hard work today: Like a nazi against the jews.
Watch any utube about athens… traffic…: Where are these frat cars?
You tough guy couldn’t exist one day without air condition!
Zed,Bilderberg is a fact, 100 of the powerful people every year make a reunion in closed doors. I dont get it, if you think their reunion is a lie or is irrelevant.
“This view of the system is close to fascist theories because it says that you have only to destroy the Bilderberger (or another group) and the world would be better”
Whaat? Pure nonsense! I never said we just need to destroy some groups and we are free! But in fact there are negative groups that cant coexist with a free society.
To quote the song “state funeral” of anti flag that mention 2 of these groups:
“And still the wicked sleep
And dream of endless years of tyranny
Passed on by incestuous means
Skulls and Bones, Freemason reigns”
Again, this attitude of “get out of here all you conspiracy theorists” dont help the cause at all.
On ‘conspiracies’- Or the machinations of power relations, a few reminders:-
The assassination of Julius Caesar.
Elizbeth 1st of England and death Mary the Queen of Scots.
The St.Bartholemews massacre.
Niccolo Machiavelli.
The Borgias.
Napoleon and the 18 Brumaire.
Prince Klemens Wenzel von Metternich.
The Roger Casement letter.
Lenin, the Bolshevik seizure of power and the German High Command.
The Mukden Incident.
Nazis financial support for British and French fascism.
The attack on the Gleiwitz radio station.
The Tonkin Incident.
Gladio.
Iraqi ‘WMDs’…
I could go on, but as you can see from above, historically, conspiracy is the stuff of power.
The Bilderberg group exists, and they exist beyond democratic control, they share a vested, class interest in the status quo and the current socio-political international order. Doubtless, some here have chosen to take this, from what I wrote, to blow it out of proportion, for whatever reason. Remove it, and what I have written still stands despite the efforts to undermine it.
The biggest conspiracy is that of the international bourgeoisie, organised politically, financially and militarily, against the workers and unwaged of the world.
The post-war consensus between the classes is disintegrating, and the social contract promised by liberal democracy is being torn up by our rulers. Their mistake is to have underestimated how educated, and now, how well-informed the masses have become, their only course of action is to resort to the brutality of the boot and baton, exposing themselves for what they are.
In answer to the question of whether the Emperor has no clothes, we will have to respond to them, and each other, with one voice- ” OMNIA SUNT COMMUNIA! “.
@JULIO + INCUBUS: Of course Bilderberger exists, but if you destroy them NOTHING will change. People who argue against Bilderberger almost hide the main problem of the capitalstic system and they dont show alternatives. On the other side, if there really would be a revolution in Greece during next week, the Bilderberger and all the other idiots give a shit on it, they dont care about this small market with only 12 million inhabitants and no resources.
If you really want to do something seriously for greek/european/world revolution dont speak about Bilderberger. Think about how to organize the food/health/energy-supply, how to earn money in a non-capitalistic-way, how to interact with the other capitalsitic states in a peaceful way. Think about different ways of living, working, using energy, mobility and a new definition of livingstandards. There are many things to do but I hear nothing about it from you, occupiedlondon ore somewhere else.
I agree, the most important is to always learn how to be independent of their system, to focus just on these elite groups without making an effort to change society to a new one based on non exploitation is not a solution.
What they most fear is awareness and in some countries they are loosing the capacity to manipulate. For me is important to expose these “secret” groups because i’m shure much more people realizing who they really are, more they loose power.
It’s important to respect people with different views that want a real social change too, even if they came from “conspiracy theories” or zeitgeist, there are valid points in that, others that can be questioned.
Zed: Maybe if we all grew tomatoes at out window sills and ran a gift economy within exarchia, maybe then class consciousness will be attained.
>If you really want to do something seriously for greek/european/world revolution dont speak about Bilderberger
Because you know exactly whats serious and what isn’t right? Yes master.
>how to earn money in a non-capitalistic-way,
thats the first thing we want, to earn more money but “non-capitalistic” money, yay!
>how to interact with the other capitalsitic states in a peaceful way.
pitifully naive.
>There are many things to do but I hear nothing about it from you, occupiedlondon ore somewhere else.
Isn’t it frustrating when you hold of the answers that no one has thought of? Egotistical moron.
Zedisdead, you represent exactly the problem why this protest may fails. You dont want to think or talk about perspectives, you dont understand that simple earning money has nothing to do with capitalism and when you hear about alterative ways of living, you’re thinking about tomatoes at the balkony. If the workingclass has to decide between people like you and Papandreou, they simple vote for the last one because its the smaller shit. Thats why revolution never happens.
@Wise man
Just to piss you off a little bit more. I am Greek and very very lazy. I don’t work if I can and I want everything for free. I love being lazy and I hate those who praise work. For more… Bob Black – The abolition of work
I represent exactly? How did you quantify this zed? Once again you seem to have all the answers to the problems of the world.
“Thats why the revolution never happens” – Yes zed, you have all of the answers. You seem to have it all worked out and its everybody elses fault for not listening to you.
Once again zed, you are blinded by your own ego.
c’mon, the 20th biggest economy without resources? more conspiracy?:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x8M-rJULXlo
regarding food-supply: kill fuckin Lidl and the farmers will be lucky!
All this bullshit to-and-fro bitching is irrelevent, especially with people behaving like trolls to supress debate.
Zed- I know full well, as will other readers here that you don’t claim to ‘have all the answers’, and that you are just trying to engage in a dialogue with others- the points you raised are vitally important, especially since many scoff at anarchist ideas as being ‘utopian’ and ‘unrealistic’… Questions such as how to organise sustainable economic development, healthcare, food production and distribution, the generation of sustainable energy and the thorny problems of remuneration and the division of labour need to be answered. The Indignant assemblies have shown just how people want to engae with these issues directly, and that a participatory democracy is the first step toward participatory economics, and yes, the entire ruling class will have to be forcibly removed to fully realise these forms and aims.
I only mentioned the Bilderburg connection due to the near blanket blackout of reporting internationally of the assembly movements- The Bilderburgers are just one manifestation of the Bourgoisie, along with the IMF, the EU Directorate and a whole host of other international organisations…All of them exist to maintain, enhance and extend their class power- But soon enough these issues- the destruction of Capital and how we organise life afterwards will become THE pressing need as Capital eats itself, starting with the proletariat…As we have already seen, many of these things are being debated in assemblies across Europe…The rich cannot ‘fix’ the crisis, so the people will have to find their own solutions now.
at the moment there’s plenty of food starting to rot cuz the russians don take our shit anymore
Well, Zeitgeist is really Conspiracy Bullshit working against a scientifically analysis of the capitalist crisis. It put’s the Critiscism of Capitalism in general towards the Conspiracy Corner.
But the Bilderberg meetings are a fact, and for me it is a very interesting fact that he most important people o the world meet each other once a year und you can’t read a single word about in newspapers, whereas if Angela Merkel meets Obama you can see it on every Channel. It really shows how the actual “democracys” are working, nothing about transparency and freedom of the press etc.
For fucks sake, I wished I’d never mentioned the bastards- LET’S TALK ABOUT THE CRISIS, THE REVOLT AND NOT THE RICH SCUM WHO CAUSED IT!
@INCUBUS I agree! I think next step should be to bring the focus of the discussion on two main topics: 1. how can we stop&destroy the system without much violence and 2. what happens after, what is the perspective. May we can build specialized groups of different topics like energy, food, health, cummunication, economy, foreign-politics and so on. A great success would be a manifestation which explains some of the aims of the revolutionary movement more concrete and more detailed than the spanish one, which lets so much space for interpretation that Papandreou whould sign it by himself.
“1. how can we stop&destroy the system without much violence”
I think Iceland gave the best example.Since the protests began in 2008 there was no violence and in my opinion by far that’s the most fair system in the world, not saying is perfect but seems to me the most inteligent nowadays.
Seems to me the people there is not influenced by mainstream media at all.As far as i know they overthrow the prime minister and the head of the central bank with massive and pacific protests. For shure the small population (+- 350 thousand) helped but i think the main reason is awareness. Also theres no mcdonalds there anymore!
I read in this site that the greek prime minister started to consider to call a referendum to vote the austerity the measures (maybe is he afraid to loose his head?), imagine if a refenrendum is called, the austerity would be defeated by far and it could spread to other countries. It could be a real victory
In Spain yesterday a women confronted the prince asking for a referendum do end the monarchy. Seems to me the people should do: Force this referendum, theres huge probability of “no monarchy” win. If they refuse to call a referendum or “no monarchy’ loose, considering the very huge crowds against the royals, a mass movement refusing to pay taxes seems to me the best ideia.
Seems to me this kind of civil desobey, mass non compliance are the best way, focus on violence dont solve the problems and can hurt innocents/justify violent repression.
On Violence:-
“Don’t be deceived when they tell you things are better now. Even if there’s no poverty to be seen because the poverty’s been hidden. Even if you ever got more wages and could afford to buy more of these new and useless goods which industries foist on you and even if it seems to you that you never had so much, that is only the slogan of those who still have much more than you. Don’t be taken in when they paternally pat you on the shoulder and say that there’s no inequality worth speaking of and no more reason to FIGHT because if you believe them they will be completely in charge in their marble homes and granite banks from which they rob the people of the world under the pretence of bringing them culture. Watch out, for as soon as it pleases them they’ll send you out to protect their gold in wars whose weapons, rapidly developed by servile scientists, will become more and more deadly until they can with a flick of the finger tear a million of you to pieces.”–Jean Paul Marat, 18th Century French Visionary (and revolutionary)
…In other words, violence is indispensible in revolution because the State is organised violence, it is always and without exception backed by what it euphemistically calls ‘force’- physical coercion- As Hitler said, “Force is the first law”, authority cannot function without the ultimate sanction and monopoly of inflicting pain, mutilating and killing. All violence is degrading, obscene and dehumanising, using it debases the victim and the perpetrator- We should never relish its use, unlike the State’s specialists in violence(though class anger is an understandable spur to cruelty and the joy of destruction). Peaceful demonstrations are all good and well up to a point- Self-defence is always justified, but you cannot expect to win any revolution through moral force alone against an enemy that has no scruples about mass murder and torture. As the crisis escalates, we will have to learn to use our power judiciously, with wisdom and courage. We should never reliquish our share of and right to violence.
Hello There. I discovered your blog the usage of msn. That is a very smartly written article. I’ll be sure to bookmark it and return to read more of your helpful info. Thanks for the post. I will certainly return.
You really make it seem so easy with your presentation but I
