On December 6th 2008 a police shooting of a 16 year old innocent boy in Athens started a two week revolt in cities around Greece. Three years on people march in remembrance of Alexis Grigoropoulos. Greece now is very much in social and economic turmoil. This films looks at the events surrounding December as well as an inside look to the often cases of revolt in a country that is sinking deeply in recession. Where methinks the unmitigated truth may on the face of it, not be as, glorious, prideful or hopeful as the sweetly palliated version, seductively alluding to comfortably appease the captivating fascination of an immortal resilient Greek spirit of undeterred defiance. Still if we truly aspire a real revolution to interdict, expose and expropriate, their fake revolution (or rather movie) in the making, we must pertinently assess how all undistorted sense of glory, pride or hope, or authenticity by itself if you will, can solely abide in proclaiming the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth alone, in order to befittingly adjudge by the discretion of wisdom, integrity & perceptiveness, the concept of an actually truly immortal resilient Greek spirit of undeterred defiance.
Or else when we complacently concede to subserve in accommodating the calculated script composed on the convenient terms decreed by the calculative reckoning oppressors and their scientific technocratic accomplishes, the outcome is of course irrevocably predetermined by the unfailing math of the mad professor in mass psychology, that by the grace of the winner privileged to determine history, will then in all finality with hindsight positivity, conveniently write off this duped youth as an another proven epitome of a once again ****ed generation, just to pretend that the future contemporary world is any better than any historic era heretofore, albeit one could even well easily deduce by the observable transformations in human history, that evidently the more things change, the more they stay the same.
