The 15 anti-fascists arrested at the September 30th anti-fascist demo will remain in custody for another night, as there was disagreement between the public investigator (against) and the public prosecutor (for) the continuation of their detention until their trial. It is a remarkable turn of events, as a pre-trial detention until trial (which can last up to 18 months) is extremely rare, if not completely unheard of.
As happens in these cases, a special legal committee will now decide on the pre-trial detention of the 15 anti-fascists on the afternoon of Friday, October 5th.
Due to the course of these events, the 15 anti-fascists will now be joined at the Eyelpidon courthouse by the 4 anti-fascists detained at their solidarity demonstration on October 1st, plus 14 of the workers at the Skaramangas shipyard who were arrested on October 4th, after storming the ministry of Defense in Athens.
A solidarity gathering has been called at the Eyelpidon courthouse for Friday, October 5th at 9:30am.
