IKEA workers are on strike

Since yesterday the workers in various IKEA shops in Greece are on wildcat strike against the new cuts to their salary that their bosses are trying to implement. The workers are striking against the wish of their union leadership which agreed with the cuts. This morning workers are concentrated in front of the IKEA shop of Kifisos and refuse to start work, while the bosses gave them two hours deadline to sign the new contracts, otherwise they will make redundancies.

Meanwhile, most municipal clerks who are in charge of personnel refuse to send to the Ministry the lists of the municipal workers who have to be made redundant according to the new law. More news as they come.
