Racist murder in the neighbourhood of Petralona, Athens covered up by mainstream media and the police

In the early hours of January 17th (at approximately 3.20 AM) two Greek men aged 28 and 24 attacked and lethally stabbed a Pakistani male, aged 27. The two tried to ride away on their motorbike, but thanks to the neighbors who shouted and kept track of their license plates, they were arrested soon thereafter.

Both the Greek police and mainstream media are trying to play down the murder, claiming it came as result of a ‘dispute’ over traffic priority (!) In response, the movement “united against racism and the fascist threat” is calling for a demonstration today (Jan 17) at 6pm, at Merkouri Square in Petralona.

The murder comes only two days before January 19th, the day of the “Athens: Antifascist city” demonstration.
